Jennifer Rodriguez-Selden
Jennifer Rodriguez-Selden grew up immersed in a rich cultural tapestry, shaped by her British and Polish heritage. In a family where sewing was second nature, she learned the intricacies of garment construction by observing her mother, grandmother, and aunties at work. Her love for knitwear emerged during her MA in Fashion Womenswear at the Royal College of Art, where she was honoured with an award from the 150 year old Scottish cashmere mill, Todd & Duncan.
With over two decades of experience in the fashion industry, Jennifer has collaborated with some of its most iconic names, including Alberta Ferretti in Italy and Vivienne Westwood in London. Now based in Geneva, she founded Maison J R S in 2020, a brand dedicated to responsible and highly crafted knitwear.
Her designs—crafted in luxurious cashmere and fine merino wool—are distinctive in their textured fabric development and exquisite colour combinations. Inspired by art, gallery visits, and life drawing, Jennifer’s creative process is deeply intuitive, translating into pieces that are interchangeable across seasons.
Maison J R S speaks to those who appreciate the intersection of art and fashion, combining creative design with quiet sophistication.
Responsible practise
Our luxury knitwear is made in the UK and Mauritius in partnership with a family business, specialising in high-quality Scottish cashmere and merino wool. Our cashmere is sourced from Todd & Duncan in Scotland (150 years of expertise) using fibre from nomadic goats in Inner Mongolia, spun and dyed with eco-friendly dyes in the soft waters of Scotland. Both cashmere and merino wool are machine washable, biodegradable, and naturally antibacterial, requiring less washing. Wool’s durability makes it a responsible fashion choice, with sustainable materials that care for the planet and the wearer.
